Monotype printmaking is a simple and open-ended medium that rewards experimentation. Ink goes on a plate, and the plate goes through a roller, pressing its mirror image into paper. Pressing a plate warps and changes the image from how it looked before, bringing an exciting element of randomness. Rollers can be quite large and expensive, a barrier to those interested in trying monotype. This class will provide a space for students to dip their toes in and try something new without needing to buy any equipment.
