ABOUT THE ARTIST

After cultivating her dynamic voice and performance skills in backup roles and stage plays, Joslyn Hampton teamed with her stepfather, Marty Charters (a touring guitarist and songwriter who has shared the stage with legends such as Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, and Van Morrison), to compose a captivating set of tunes and assemble an ace band. Joslyn & The Sweet Compression (Carter Scofield- Guitar, Tyler Papierniak – bass, Rashawn Fleming – drums, Jacob O’Donnell – saxophone, and Will Doty – Keyboard) combine to deliver a hook-filled mix of funk and soul.

A rising force out of Lexington, Kentucky, the band led by Joslyn Hampton is ready to uplift and inspire through their singular and stirring soul-funk sound. 2019’s critically acclaimed, self-titles, debut album made them a favorite headliner at regional clubs and music festivals. After a grueling and relentless tour schedule – one that saw them supporting Tower of Power at New York’s Sony Hall and Tyler Childers at Colorado’s legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre – the band came out in 2023 with “Bona Fide,” a sonically and emotionally charged record that captures their breathtaking live energy as well as their humanity.
